In realworld terms, it means that i might not find "tesco frozen sliced mushrooms 500g", but i will find "generic button mushrooms" or "asda frozen mushrooms" and get within 1% of the nutrition listed on my food. In the meantime, Cronometer pulls from multiple government databases, which it lists alongside the food data, and has a very detailed database of common foods. The slightly smaller database size isnt a deal-breaker for me, and will naturally resolve over time. I make the effort to enter all the nutrition data into the app every time, because thats the best and only way to improve this aspect of Cronometer, or any MFP alternative. Since using Cronometer, i estimate about 5% of my foods have not been entered into its database. Since MFP is the most popular app, it has the largest accumulated database of foods, making it the easiest app to use in terms of food searching. Not an issue specific to Cronometer, but specific to all apps whose content is communally populated. I can edit it easily and even clone it in case i want to make a new version. I can define multiple serving sizes (per 100g, per serving, per tsp, etc). On Cronometer, it is a dream! Heres what the site looks like as i edit a custom recipe. If youve ever used it, youll know what i mean. In MFP, either via the site or via the app, the user experience for making a new recipe was downright awful. MFP on the other hand locks this data behind a paywall. I use this data to track things like Leucine, Tryptophan and Omega 3, as well as the usual fiber and electrolytes. Its all there, listed for every food, every meal and every day. Seeing actual caloric figures reflecting my exercise is a big bonus for me, even if those numbers may be off as exercise-related caloric calculations tend to be.Ĭronometer attempts to track every single micronutrient, from omega 3/6/9 content of your fat to the amino acid content of your protein. Ive been using the dynamic budget to track my overall energy expenditure as i increase my workout frequency. At first it seemed counter-intuitive to set a goal and then see it move around, but actually, your preset goal and the dynamic goal are both presented next to each other on both the site and the app, so you can make your own caloric judgements with all the information readily at hand. it will adjust your daily requirements relative to your exercise and even thermal effect of food. One quirk of Cronometer is that it uses a dynamic caloric budget. I get no crashes, no freezing, i can navigate without lag and i dont have to hunt through menus to get to the features i want (custom meals in MFP for example). The app itself is just as modern and well developed as the site. Note the ad space is roughly 10% vs MFP's 50%+. Compared to MFP, whose site was developed sometime before the wheel, the Cronometer site is a dream to use. Clean, informative, and has modern UI interactions (click + drag, etc). I have been using the free version of Cronometer for about 2 months, and can recommend it whole-heartedly over MFP. Fuck MFP.Īfter hearing the news from MyFitnessPal that they will remove the barcode scanning feature from the free version of their app on October 1st, I have been looking for an alternative that will fit my needs.

In closing, the game has a good balance to it. I don't think I've seen that in any other game, even Civilization(Granted, it's been years since I played that). I did like the option to use Intelligence to have the option to provide an Ambush, thus not risking your army. This might make it a bit more challenging the whole way through. Or at least the same strength? Or maybe a random strength to make it variable. Might I suggest a scalable strength of the opposing army? So if your army is at one level, then the opponent can be 1.25 times in strength. At that point, I just went straight for the Capitals of the other territories, easily conquering them. I had probably about 1/4 of the screen under my control when my army reached invincible level. While it is an awesome feeling to know that you and your army can defeat anyone you come up against, it get's a little boring after a while. He still shows up in the Diplomacy section saying here's the Amulet.įor a recommendation, I found the battles got too easy after a certain point. However, once you use it and ultimately defeat Paradise, there is never an option to give the Amulet back and close the storyline. When you talk with him, he gives you his amulet to "prove" he's dead, saying "I trust you enough to hand it over to you but do me a favor and return it, the necklace has some sentimental value for me". Regarding Marcus and Paradise, one of the methods to get in good with Lusty, Beauty and Crazy it to "kill" Marcus. Well Done! I have one "bug" report, and a recommendation. Finally fixed a bug that was in the game since a long time that caused certain events to never appear in some cases (The most promninent occurrence of this bug was that Prof. You've definitely got a Civilization type game with an extremely adult bent. It's inspired by games like Civilization and Free Cities, giving players a city-state to control and expand as they subjugate other city-states whilst taking over the world. Yeah, I’m kind of slow about this kind of stuff.ĭozens of hours later, in the wee hours of the morning, I was ready. This also required a trip to the Geeks to get more help. Then I had to take about 300 photos and crop and edit them, then upload them to Shutterfly. (Thank you, thank you, Patrick and Tyler!) I should add that I have no plans to publish this story, but I would be annoyed if someone else did. The fee is $55 and it was damnably complicated and after several frustrating hours, I employed the services of a Best Buy Geek to finally get it uploaded on the site. The neighbor told me I must copyright it. The pleasant aura lasted until the next day when I mentioned to a neighbor that several people asked if they could share the story on-line. Then I was so pleased with myself I shared it with a few friends, including the creator of lamb and donkey, the multi-talented Alice Porembski. I went back to the store and swooped them up and banged out a story that afternoon. An hour later, the final piece of my plan fell in place: if I wrote a story and made it into a book and gave that with the donkey and the lamb, well then, the rules don’t apply because it is now considered a family heirloom, not toys. This whole minimalist thing is a very strange concept for me, but I try to respect their rules. They live in a very small house and try to limit their possessions. Except their parents are kind of strict about toys. It took about a day, but I finally found a justification: I could buy them and give them to my Menlo Park grandkids (who are three and one) for Christmas. Still, I couldn’t stop thinking about them. What next? Dolls in the china hutch? I mean, that’s okay for other people, but I just don’t go there. I couldn’t countenance the idea that I might be the kind of woman who would decorate her home with stuffed toys. Plus, the ambiance of the shop was such that I felt strongly about buying something-taste and talent should be rewarded, says I.īut I left. And then I was smitten by the equally adorable lamb. There was fabulous handmade jewelry as well as all manner of artsy stuff, but what I fell in love with was this little hand-knitted donkey. So, of course, I was there within an hour. What? A cute local shop that I had never heard of? I must be losing my plot. We were in a very public place, so I restrained myself and instead badgered her to tell me where she got it. I went to the AAUW home tour and at one of the homes I ran into an old friend with such a smashing necklace, I wanted to rip it off her neck. "But with that short notice, we didn't have enough time to get any other people here." "If you have a reservation for a big table like that, we usually have extra staff," he said. To that point in the day, business was steady and staffing was appropriate, according to Arrowsmith. One of the bikers called Cerno's, whose original location is in Kewanee, and gave about 20 minutes' warning about their arrival. Help wanted: Peoria-area restaurants having a hard time filling job openings That's become common as the pandemic has eased and restaurants have become busy again, but industry workers haven't returned in sufficient numbers. But according to Miller, one they visited was closed because of a lack of staff. The outdoor roadhouse east of Sheffield is popular with bikers.įood isn't the primary Psycho Silo attraction, so Miller and crew sought a restaurant on their ride. The day they stopped in Elmwood, Miller and his compatriots were en route to Psycho Silo Saloon, located about 55 miles north of Peoria. But in his free time, Miller likes to ride his Harley-Davidson, usually with friends. Miller resides in Fort Madison, Iowa, where for a living he drives a truck. But he stood tall and did an amazing job." Said Carlton Miller: "If it was me in this position and I saw 25 bikers walk in, I would have walked out the back door. "He's an awesome dude," Cerno's co-owner Casidy Tavares said about Arrowsmith. "It's kind of overwhelming when you walk out and a roomful of people was screaming and cheering you on."Īccording to Arrowsmith's boss and to one of the bikers, the cheering was well deserved. That was my first thought, something with the food," the Trivoli resident said earlier this week regarding his command performance. "I was hoping that there was nothing wrong. In the 13 years Arrowsmith has spent cooking in restaurants, including two years at Cerno's, all this was a first. More: The best burger in Illinois might be found at Cerno's in Elmwood and Kewanee They also presented him with a hat they had passed and filled with cash for a tip - about $70, according to Arrowsmith. When Arrowsmith emerged, they gave him a standing ovation. That Saturday afternoon, Arrowsmith was the only cook on duty.Īfter what they deemed an excellent meal and service, the bikers summoned Arrowsmith from the kitchen. More accurately, the love came from at least 25 motorcyclists who on short notice stopped to dine at Cerno's Bar & Grill in Elmwood, where Arrowsmith is a chef. Last weekend, the restaurant business loved him back. Even as the coronavirus pandemic has made it more difficult. ELMWOOD - Justin Arrowsmith loves to cook, and he loves to work in the restaurant business. So to reduce this time complexity in downsizing by checking for the quarter size of the array to be equal to the size of the queue to half it at that point so we will not face the N order growth for enqueueing just the next element in the queue. Java: Convert a priority queue to an array containing all of the elements of the queue Last update on Ap12:55:37 (UTC/GMT +8 hours) Java Collection, PriorityQueue Exercises: Exercise-10 with Solution Write a Java program to convert a priority queue to an array containing all its elements. Now you might be thinking why not to half the array just like we have doubled it for upsizing, but than if we half the array just when the size of queue is half of the size of array we will phase an order of growth N for enqueueing just the next element in queue and this will happen every time whenever an enqueue is performed just after the downsizing by dequeue, which is also bad.
You can always tell a bonobo from a chimp by their lips! Bonobos have bright pink lips while chimpanzees have dark lips. Bonobos have dark black faces from birth, while baby chimps have pale pink faces that darken with maturation. Their coloration differs slightly as well. In contrast, bonobo females and males are much closer in size. Additionally, chimpanzees display sexual dimorphism as the males are significantly larger than the females. Chimps, on the other hand, are much burlier. Bonobos are slender with long lanky limbs. To start, they have quite different body shapes. Patrick Rolands/ Do Chimpanzees and Bonobos Look Different?Īt first glance, it might be hard to tell the two primates apart, but, in fact, chimpanzees and bonobos have a few key differences in appearance. Though both species can be found in the Congo River Basin, bonobos stay south of the river while chimpanzees can be found to the north. On the other hand, chimpanzees are found across twelve countries in east, central, and west Africa. In fact, bonobos are endemic to a small region of the Congo River Basin in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. However, bonobos have a much smaller range. Distribution & Rangeīoth chimpanzees and bonobos live in the tropical jungles of central Africa. Keep reading to learn more about the ecology of these two primates along with some of their key differences. Over the years, research has continued to reveal differences between chimpanzees ( Pan troglodytes) and bonobos ( Pan paniscus). Eventually, the two ape species were seen as distinct. In fact, until 1954, scientists called them pygmy chimpanzees. Originally, researchers assumed bonobos were just a subspecies of chimpanzees. Their genus shares the family Hominidae with the other tailless great apes like gorillas and orangutans. Physically, chimpanzees and bonobos are quite similar, and together, they make up the sole members of the genus Pan. But while these two great ape species have many similarities, they are actually quite different animals. Humans ( Homo sapien) share not only a common ancestor with both these primates, but we also share over 95% of our genome. Chimpanzees and bonobos are our closest living relatives.
